Newegg has a great deal on the 1.8" SLC SSD ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147056) for $175. I currently own a Samsung X460, but it has a 2.5" hard drive bay that supplies 5V. According to this list ( http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/productList.do?fmly_id=161), the Samsung SSD requires 3.3V. Is there an adapter that will allow me to use this SSD in my laptop?
Thanks!

You're looking for something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-8-2-5-LENOVO-...hash=item270348935939&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
So far I have not had any luck finding one not made by Lenovo and not super-expensive. -
I found this on a search, but I know nothing about the company; http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php...id=214&zenid=b9607f35efe331c3cc24b84b5fabd17a

Nice find, actually. It's a pity it's still relatively expensive, though it looks like a quality piece of work.

The newmodeus adapter linked above is passthru,, so only good for 5V 1.8" SSDs, with only the PQI S518 having this spec. All other 1.8" SSDs by Samsung/Intel/Photofast are 3.3V. So need one of these instead OR some a very basic 3.3V adapter from ebay starting at $12US.
