I have a friend who just bought a Lenovo T410S Laptop and he was telling me he needs a 1.8' SSD. I never even knew that such a form factor exists...

what are your recommendations what drive to get that's 1.8'?

It's for his kids he only needs like 120GB or so

You're very welcome. A couple of things to bear in mind:

    a) T410/s - as well as that entire generation of ThinkPads - is SATA II only, so getting the "latest and greatest and fastest oh my" SSD might not do much for it in the terms of performance.

    b) I've had less-than-stellar experiences with SandForce-based drives on this generation of ThinkPads, and would advise against buying one, even if they seem cheap.

    c) My personal preference if I were shopping for 1.8" SSD myself would be a Crucial or non-SF Intel, but to each their own.

    Good luck.

Thanks man, I know about SandForce drives I've learned my lesson after owning a Kingston 480GB HyperX Drive which could get excellent scores in ATTO Disk Benchmark since that uses compressed data but in real world usage, it could barely reach 170MB/S write speed, worst drives ever

Was just joking with ya. But it's the quote: " = inches.

Kingston, Intel, and OCZ are the only brands I know of with 1.8" SSD's. Intel is probably the most reliable of the three, but also the slowest.
