i installed a x25-v ssd in my 1005ha netbook. i installed the ahci driver to enable my ssd to run 150mbs ( sata I) the fastest my netbook is capable of. However hdtune still shows it running in udma 5 (100mbs) . Do i need to change to ahci mode in the bios before installing windows 7?

Do you have an AHCI controller in device manager? if that is the case, then you're in AHCI mode.
HDTune isn't the best software to use for SSD's. Use AS SSD instead.
