1080p Quality Screen Upgrade Replacement Recommendations? (for Samsung RF511 - NP-RF511-AO3DX)

    Hello there,
My sons laptop recently took a blow to the screen rendering it unusable :-s

So I need to source a good quality 1080p upgrade replacement, can anyone recommend one?

The original screen (1366 x 768) was pretty appalling to begin with, the viewing angles were shocking, the colours were washed out, and I did intend on replacing the screen eventually anyway.

As we all know, there are more elements that make for a good quality screen, besides just the resolution, and it is this additional information that is hard to find out when sourcing a replacement screen. I’d be very disappointed to install a new screen to find poor viewing angles and bad colours again.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not want to spend silly money, such as say Eizo standard,
but don’t mind spending a little extra to get something worthwhile!

    Looking forward to all input.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tony.

The screen that goes to that laptop is the LTN156AT01. A search in ebay finds them going for around $50 to $100. As for a 1080p replacement you may be out of luck, you can't just put any old 15" 1080p screen in there it has to have the same connection and dimensions. Best way to try and find one is see if Samsung made a 15" laptop in that same generation of laptops with a 1080p screen and go from there.
