    Hi
I have a DV6000 and a 12 cell battery. The problem is that when I shut it down with full battery and try to reboot it, the battery is no longer full. If I shut it for 6-8 weeks, the battery loses 90% of its capacity. There must be a problem.

Thats normal; there are several articles about this on the net (and in your manual probably). Over such a period of time the charge will dissipate; it is after all a slow chemical reaction that will not last forever.
