    1240x800 or 1440x900 for 14inch widescreen laptop?

    can someone post a picture of their desktop with two different resolutions?
    I want to compare the size of the icons.. :confused:

    there is no 1240x800, only 1280x800 :)

    resolution doesn't matter u can change the size of icons manually by holding the control button and using the scroll button on your mouse

    Exactly jisaac. What the OP needs to do is go to a retail store and look for themselves. No pictures on this site will do this comparison justice, IMO. You have to see it with your own eyes!

    i have 1440x900 on 14inch.... I regret the upgrade. But I have a external 22" connected so I rarely use the laptop screen

    I can get playable framerates at 1440x900 in WoW on my Vostro 1400 so, for me, it was worth the extra money for the upgrade. However things ARE a little small (my first 14.1'' so I'm crediting at least some of it to me needing to get used to the smaller screen). However jisaac's point remains true.

    As does bubbatex's, it'll be worth it to go to a store and check out the different displays.

    Wait, what. You can change the size of the icons by pressing control, than scrolling?

    How come mine isnt working

    Are you running Vista? Click the desktop, hold down the CTRL key and then you have to use "scroll" - either on the side of the touchpad or a scroll wheel on your mouse.

    yes the ctrl + scroll only works with vista
