I have a studio xps 1604 that runs 2x2gb of ddr 1066 ram. I'm seeing a lot of deals for 2x4gb 1333 ram and I'm wondering if I'll be able to run it. What are the pros/cons of this? Thanks!

It will just downclock to 1066 if your chipset doesn't support it. Basically, 1333 Cas9 and 1066 Cas7 are the same ram.

1640 runs 1066 RAM. You could get the 1333 but it would simply run at the lower speed. Get which ever is cheaper, though I'd stick with kingston and corsair etc. since they're only a small amount more expensive than the super value RAM you get and have excellent returns policies. I'm a little skeptical of where the ultra value stuff comes from and how reliable it is.

I run cheap (at the time) Mushkin RAM alongside the stock Samsung RAM in my laptop, and have had no problems with the current sticks. I originally order two 2pk (16GB total), but one of the sticks was bad (would not boot, gave me the beeping code for bad RAM), so I returned that pack to Mushkin (via Newegg) and had no problems getting my $75 back within a week.
