Was just wondering if 1366 x 768 resolution in a 15" is decent screen real estate. I know it's not much but it seems to be becoming a standard and around here this is the best res on a laptop I can get. Guess this would be great for games and movies but not so much for large word docs or webpages?

It isn't awful like some make it seem but if there was an option for a higher res panel on my notebook, I would take it.

Depends on your vision too. I don't have the best vision and I enjoy it just fine. My gf has excellent vision and thinks everyone on my desktop is huge lol.

It slightly depends on each person.
It is recommended if you are not quite 20/20 with your eyes, and you cant read those small letters on a WUXGA. But if you do CAD.DCC.Photoshop or anything familiar, you will mostly likely prefer the higher resolution.
As for me, I would get the highest the model has to offer. -
Appreciate the comments. Unfortunately I do use some Photoshop, but started off on a 13" with less res than this so don't think I'll miss anything. But yeah, really wish I could get a bigger screen. But in terms of real world usage would you guys say it looks fine for games and movies? Text I can zoom in and out till I find a decent size. Thanks.

Depends what kind of games. FPS typically are fine, but some RTS games might be better with higher resolution (such as Warcraft III or Supreme Commander).

1366x768 is fine for most FPS games as sgogeta4 said, and you won't be able to see enough detail on a 15" screen for a higher resolution to matter in movies. -
Alright great thanks. Only issue is though I will be playing lots of FPS games, I also want to play stuff like StarCraft 2, Dragon Age, Diablo. Will these games suffer cos of my choice of res? Do you recommend getting an external monitor...?
-
I play WC3 on that resolution and it's fine (though it will use 1280x800). If you want more than that then yes, an external monitor would be a good way to go.

Hmm aight thanks sgogeta4 sound advice. Seems like it's just going to boil down to individual perspective so will see how it goes. At worst can purchase a decent monitor. Thanks guys for the help.
1366 x 768 on a 15" monitor.
