    15.4" + 25.5" screens Via HDMI...

    I'm using the laptop in my sig, with an HDMI cord connecting it to a 25.5" Vizio Monitor. It will let me connect the screen, but not use it as my primary... Unless my laptop is close and then I can't type... the setups that work now are:

    laptop closed, external is primary, but I cannot type
    laptop open, laptop is primary, 25.5" is just extra space
    laptop open, laptop is only screen, just like normal.

    I had my laptop connected to a different screen, a 22" and it worked how I wanted, external as my main and laptop as secondard... that was with HDMI also.

    I want to use the external as my primary and I do not care if the laptop is on or off. Vista keeps saying that I don't have admin privliages to do that though. GER. I'm the only use on the laptop = the only admin!

    Oddly enough it works with VGA...

    Under Display settings (RMB on Desktop > Personalize > Display settings), Tick “ This is my main monitor” for 25.5” and “ Extend the desktop onto this monitor” for your notebook monitor.
