hey i'm planning on upgrading the screen in my hp dv5000 ( old i know )

Anyways i was planning on either getting a screen that is 1680x1050 or 1920x1200

Basically what i was wondering is if 1920x1200 would be too high of a resolution for a 15.4 inch screen. What do you guys think?

    Thanks.

Personally, I think it's too high, though some do really like it. WSXGA+ is perfect for a 16:10 screen.

I know some dv series supported WSXGA+. Alternatively you can see if your model ever came with it by going to partsurfer.hp.com and punch in your model part number a sticker under your laptop; looks like

You need the P/N minus the #ABA

I think you should be fine with any other 15.4" WSXGA+ as long as you know whether your laptop is LED or CCFL.
