Does a 16 inch notebook just has a smaller bezel compared to a 15.6 inch notebook? Or does the actual laptop size get bigger?
-
Yeah, they are usually a bit wider. And just a little more depth....
-
Sony FW21/31/41 is a very good example. 1600x900, btw
-
Dell SXPS 16s with 15.6" are the same size as the 16", except less of the laptop is used up by a screen
-
What? My friend has an Acer Aspire 6930G 16", and that's actually a lot larger than my other friends Dell Studio 15 (15.6")
-
I said Studio XPS 16.
Also, maybe your Acer is just built larger? Like more space around the screen or so?
I have had both the 15.6" and 16" screen on my SXPS and I can guarantee that my laptop size has not physically changed, just the viewing area. -
Really? I don't think the guy's Acer has a larger bezel. I would have to see the width of the bezel of the XPS 16. I really thought that the XPS 16 was a lot larger than the Studio 15.
-
On my 16" screen, there is about 1.5 cm on either side of the screen and 2.5 cm above the screen for the cam and mics. On a 15.6", there is about 2 cm on either side and 3-3.5 cm on the top. Also, an extra 1 cm on the bottom. I think it's just Dell being a lazy bum with the SXPS 16, because they are trying to share as many components as possible.
-
Hmm, I didn't realise that.
And you know Dell... -
the asus G60 is the same size as the G51VX, just less bezel and more screen.

I would honestly not trust bestbuy's measurements.

So you're telling me that my 15.4" is as big physically as a Dell Studio XPS 16?
Because I compared my laptop to my friend's Dell Studio 15, and mines just a tad bigger. -
the acer has 16.4" screen
15.6 vs 16
