PcPer has also got an article up with some pretty graphs and charts.

An interesting concept indeed.
Let's see what the "real life" tests report as a result... -

I'd be interested in this with the 1TB model and 55% OP'ing*... SLC performance at ~$1.08 per (usable) GB?
And with a capacity that is still plausible going into 2015 too (~419GB's for ~$450**).
* I'm picking this percentage as the linked article states that SLC mode is up to 45% filled.
** Based on the $0.45/GB quoted in the article. -
^^^^^^
My understanding is that the whole "SLC to MLC" thing is only available on 128GB and 256GB units in the 2.5" format...and not 512GB/1TB, see the linked article.

However, 512GB mSATA and M2 do feature the DWA option as well.
But, so far, no 1TB SSD in any form with DWA... -

ajkula66,
good catch - still, the 512GB mSATA option with 55% OP'ing in an i5 Haswell based NUC with 16GB RAM would still be very interesting to see.
This should be the fastest performing mSATA if not the fastest performing SSD period right now for the price (assuming all the performance claims are true). -
No argument from me on that one...and I could see myself purchasing a couple of mSATA drives in various sizes to play with...just hoping that they run cooler than the M5*0 generation, and closer to the good old C400 aka M4 in that respect...
We shall see... -

With the promise of less power required for these models, the temps should go down too (we hope).
