I'm going to have two extra 120GB 5400 drives when I replace them with the new drives I ordered, and my older Toshiba has a 160GB 4200 drive in it. Aside from losing the 40GB of drive space, will the 5400 show any performance increase in comparison?

Thanks, looks like replacing a 4200 with a 5400 will show in increase no matter the size.

You definitley want to have a faster hard drive. Any posssible chance that you can get a 7200 speed?

A 4200 will give you the best battery life, but the least performance.
I`d sugest a 160 or 200 5400 rpm one for better density and nice battery life/performance ratio.
