Hi, I couldn't find an answer for this question by using the search. If this question has already been answered, please feel free to point me to the correct thread and call me an idiot. Also, I DO think there ARE stupid questions, so if this is one, feel free to call me an idiot again.

What 512MB DDR2 SO-DIMM memory modules work with my 1692WLMI? (According to the sticker, my laptop originally has 512MB of DDR2, so DDR2 compatibility shouldn't be an issue.) I'd like to upgrade my memory to 2x512MB.

Thank you for your answers. :centrino:

Are you asking for specific brands?? If so Crucial & Kingston are the most widely recommend and have have good warranties. There are other cheaper generic brands also which work but dont come with any sort of warranties.

If you are asking for the specification on the RAM then you"ll need a 200pin 512MB DDR2 533MHz RAM module. To be doubly sure run CPU-Z( www.cpuid.org), It will list the type & specifiation of the RAM currently installed in your notebook.

Your notebook probably uses DDR2 533MHz (PC4200), but use CPU-Z or everest home edition to check for sure.

Crucial/Kingston are good as miner says, also Patriot Signature series memory - I use that in my laptop and it is excellent. ;)
