17" WUXGA LCD Replacement Suggestions? IPS? S PVA?

My old Dell 9300 LCD is going blank as posted on above thread.
What would be a good LCD panel replacement?
And if at all there are any decent IPS or similar good screen options?

Use a flaslight near the screen, can you see the image on the panel without backlight?
If you do, consider inverter replacement first. It's cheaper than whole panel. -
You can always try eBay, I recently (this past February) replaced my Dell Inspiron 1520's WXGA screen to WUXGA and I haven't had any problems and they have a very large inventory on their as well. I would say this though, stay away from Chinese replacements and stick to the OEM screens, you're laptop is old enough where you can afford the $70-$90 screen replacement.

If there are any 17" 16:10 CCFL backlit PVA or IPS LCDs out there its extremely unlikely they use the same LVDS interface, and if they do, they will probably be Hitachi or another strange brand which will not have an EDID supported by your Dell.
