Has anyone spotted a 17" laptop with either a 1280x800 or 1366x768 native resolution LCD? I need one for a family member with bad eyesight.

i am sure you can set up windows to show text in bigger letters etc. in accessibility options in windows... or set the resolution to 720p instead of 1080p. no need to look for a screen limited by that.

Well, the reason for wanting a screen with a native res like this is in case something happens to the OS and as I am going to be going into truck driving, I won't be around to do all that and this family member is as PC illiterate as they come. I just want a large LCD laptop with a low res so it just works, all the time, without any changes.

I know there are system touting a 17.3" screen with a resolution of 1600x900, but I don't know of any 17" + screens not containing either FHD or HD+ resolutions. 720p generally comes in 15.6" or smaller panels.

The Asus x75 series has the 17.3" screens with the HD+ resolution.

Otherwise, you'll need to adjust either the resolution on a more capable screen, or adjust the DPI.
