Do you happen to know maybe any 17.3" IPS screen? or point to some direction where i could find model names / codes of such screens? (especially 1600x900 which i understand probably doesnt exist?)

I haven't heard of a 17.3" 900p IPS display, but as for 1080p the only two that I know of are Dell's PremierColor display (Precision M6700 and earlier models) and HP's DreamColor2 display (Elitebook 8770w and earlier models).

Thanks! I had found about the Dreamcolor too. Cannot find makers and models .... any ideas?
-
if you are looking to transplant into another machine I do not think it can be done as some of our best modders including my husband with an entire electronics lab at his disposal said it was a nightmare -
thanks ....
BUMMER LOL
10-bit isnt a matter of graphics card ? ... i was thinking about my Acer 7750G 2414G50Mnkk ....
Rather get myself a used Dell or HP that has one of those screens?
I replaced my original screen with the AUO B173HW01 V4, but some things are not right with this screen ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/har.../716478-your-help-please-auo-b173hw01-v4.html ) -
wont work, you need a heavily modified iDP interface and a bunch of related circuitry to drive the panel and not LVDS. and you can also NOT have an intel IGP or graphic switching.
your best bet would be getting a refurb or used m6700, 8760w or 8770w -
an M6500 maybe ? (i despise 16:9)
-
The only 16:10 IPS of enough real-estate is the 8740w with DreamColor2.
-
-
Thanks everyone. what about the M6500 ? isnt a 17", 16:10, IPS ? just in case that can be found cheaper than 8740W
-
No. It's a nice looking RGB LED TN, but it's still a TN. 8740w has LP171WU8, while 8730w, M6500, M17X-R2 and W700 has LP171WU5.

Thanks!
- What are the model codes of DreamColor IPS 17.3 screens ?
- Do you maybe have some input on the issues i am reporting here with AUO B173HW01-V4: http://forum.notebookreview.com/har.../716478-your-help-please-auo-b173hw01-v4.html -
The IPS is not going to work unless you do heavy modification and obtain other parts for your laptop.
It look over-saturated because it is a wide gamut and the laptop or "windows" is calibrated for a lesser gamut screen. The proper solution is to get a hardware calibrator. -
spyder, color monkey and such, right ? .....
Any suggestions maybe for 17.3" 1600x900 TN panel with a good sRGB coverage?
17.3 IPS screens?
