I've heard about a few manufactures releasing 18.4" 3d laptops, but i was wondering has anything come out at this point? I read article stating CMO was making a FHD 18.4 120hz and also an article about Toshiba satellite coming out with 18.4 laptop series mid year.

Just wondering is all, i believe only samsung and Chi mei are the only one's who manufacture 18.4" panels period.

if anybody got some news or updates on laptops/panels with 3d(120hz) support, feel free to post.

edit: one more question somebody stated that a ltn184ht02-s02 revision exists, with claims of higher picture quality then the s01, though nothing on the net even indicates such a panel exists, just throwing it out there.

Well since HP and Toshiba both dropped their 18" laptops, that leave only Alienware. So if that so, it will be from them.

i was referring to 18.4" 3d panels, alien ware isn't the only panel who has 18.4" lcd monitors, and as far as i know m18x has no 3d either, and use completely different pin connectors which makes it even worse cause they can't upgrade to high end 60hz either.

what panel does m18x use btw, just wondering, i know it's not top quality.

I understood that. But M18 is a gaming laptop. So it's not far fetched that the next step to their current panel would be 3D. I suspect they're just waiting to gage the acceptance.

Anyway, Toshiba, who recently steeped down from their 18.4" laptops, does in fact offer a 3D version in their new 17.3" replacement. It's gotten pretty good reviews thus far, but I haven't hear anything about them bring back the 18.4" again.

the p180hm is also a gaming laptop, it depends on the manufacturers cmo or samsung who make the panels not alienware.

As far as I know Acer + Asus + Alienware + Clevo + Medion are the only five notebook manufactures left that release new 18" notebooks :( None of these 5 manufactures is currently using a 3D panel in their 18" models. Perhaps some of them will in the future.

It's a SEC5448. I haven't seen it myself yet, but it is supposed to be one of the best 18" panels.
