That's the question.
They are the same system just different screens.
GTX960M, i7-4720HQ, 16GB RAM, 15.6" screen
I am just wondering which screen is better.
I would be using the computer for working on GoogleDocs and taking notes in class, and Playing games ranging low end, medium end, and some high end games.
Mostly Hearthstone, TF2, CS:GO, Civ V and Civ Beyond Earth (As of now)
This is what I know about the two screens:
Touch:
Pros:
Great for browsing web
Fun for Hearthstone
Cons:
Battery has about 1 hour less of runtime (Anyone know how to disable the touchscreen?)
People at my school will touch the screen when I am typing to annoy me. (^^^^Asking same question)
4k:
Pros:
Great for games that support that amount of pixels.
Could use my GoPro on its 4k Setting (Not really important)
Cons:
Upscaling from lower resolutions will make things disproportionate.
That's all i know, if you can add to my pro/Con list or tell me which screen would be better it would be great!
And feel free to get technical! I love knowing that kind of stuff!
Thanks,
Jobo

Gaming would probably be better on the 1080p screen actually, since the 960m will struggle to drive most games at 4k. I would definitely go for the 1080p since things look great on a 15.6" panel and games will run well. Not sure how to disable touch, maybe by disabling some driver for it? Not sure. Good luck and enjoy

Alright, thanks!

Ok, so if I were to disable the driver... everything would be fine. Do you think that disabling the touchscreen would help the battery life?

Also, this is the computer I would be getting.

Any comments? -
Touch underlay I believe uses the USB bus, if you disable the driver, it may not disable the power delivery.
4K is awesome in most respects, often panel could be better quality, certain things look great, although the amount of hassle with scaling just isnt worth it. With 1080p there is nothing that needs to be change or done, it just works. -
Just bought it!
Will be in my hands within 15 days!alexhawker likes this.
