    Which is better?
1GB one piece or 1GB (512x2) ? in case all has same speed of 667mhz

In theory, 2 x 512MB will run faster as dual channel, but my own measurements comparing single and dual channel and the Intel chipset have not revealed any significant improvement. I would therefore recommend 1 x 1GB so that you have a spare slot for future upgrading of the RAM without having to remove any of your initial investment (a cautionary word here: it seems that a minority of notebooks are fussy about the mixing of RAM modules).

Because of the larger FSB provided by the CPUs nowadays, dual channel is almost obselete.

Take 1x1GB because you'll have a free slot for later upgrade. If you don't plan to take a upgrade 1-2 years later, you can take 2x512,but dual channel produces only 5-10 % of faster RAM.

    I agree.

But to clarify, dual channel will produce a 5-10% increase in memory performance, which translates to only about 1% increase to overall system performance.

Depends. If someone is into video encoding it would probably give a little bit more of a boost. As with almost all notebook threads...it comes down to what the person plans to us it for.

    You'd probably save a little battery life with 1 x 1GB.
