My SD card wasn't working too properly so I formatted it and tried putting music in it, only to find it got full up.

To my horror, I discovered it now only holds 30Mb, when it should be holding 1Gb

I've had it for one year and 4 months

    PLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE HELP ME!! :(

Try formatting the card in your computer .. if it was formatted in another device.

Sounds like it has gone bad.

I was walking through a parking lot the other day and kicked something. I picked it up - Memorex 1gig stick. It had nothing on it. Now it does.

    It's probrably faulty.

It could be a fake, but if you have had it for a long time, then it shouldn't be. But there are fakes running around, it acts like a larger sized card for a short period, then 'expires' to the original card size.

IIRC most Sandisk products have at least a 5 year warranty.

how do you fake the size of a card? does it compress the data or something? Or do they just not expect the new owner to notice that when they tried to load 1 GB and only a fraction fit?

I'm pretty sure sandisk has a really long warranty, so just send it back.

You serious...How can it "act" ... If it can originally fit that much then there is a way to get it back to that state..

I doubt anything such as that even exists
