For what purpose? Are you using this as an external drive? Main hard drive? Internal storage? The only internal 1TB drives are 12.5mm and only fit certain notebooks. You can get external 1TB drives at 15mm too but you cannot swap them (especially ones from WD).

There are no 7200rpm 1 TB 9.5mm SATA drives at this moment. There is a Samsung 1 TB drive coming out later but it is 5400 rpm.

The fastest 1 TB drive would be an external 3.5" 7200 RPM drive over eSATA or USB 3.0... but that may not be what you're asking for.

Edit - or an internal 3.5" 7200 RPM drive, but those wouldn't fit in a normal notebook, and since this is a notebook site, we wouldn't be covering those. If you're looking for an internal drive for a desktop, you'll have to go ask at Desktop Review

Depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for an external hard drive for a laptop, you have two options:

    1) Get an exclusive external hard drive like the WD 1TB MyPassport

    2) Get a WD 1TB Black with an external USB 3.0 Enclosure or an eSATA enclosure. Which depends on your current laptop/desktop. USB 3.0 is faster but not as ubiquitous as the eSATA option.

If you're looking for an internal desktop HDD, fastest 1TB option available is 7200RPM. The WD 1TB Black I listed above would suit this well.

If you're looking for an internal laptop HDD, your options are limited. Fastest available is 5400RPM. I recommend the Samsung Spinpoint
