    2 hard drives one laptop?

    So im using my new hard drive right now and my old one is just sitting around with all my pictures and music. I'm wondering whats the best way to get all that to my new one? When i had 2 laptops i would just put it on a usb but now that i only have 1 what should i do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If your drive is sata and you have a desktop, you could connect it to your desktop. maybe transfer it over the network.

    alternatively, you can buy the cheapest laptop drive enclosure on ebay (around $4 from overseas) and have a permanent external drive for $4 :)

    what laptop? my thinkpad supports 2 one in the CD bay if you have the adapter. some 17inch+ machines have 2 bays...

    Can install a 2nd harddrive via a optical drive bay caddy, the interface being SATA for ICH9m chipsets and PATA for ICH8M or earlier. Can refer to the 2510P thread to understand how to make it work best, even hotswapping between the optical drive and 2.5" HDD. A good way of having a SSD+HDD system for high os+app performance, extended battery life and decent storage space using latest 2.5" 500GB harddrives.

    What laptop? Some can support a 2nd hard drives, many cannot.

    Head over to NewEgg, and purchase a 2.5" SATA enclosure that supports USB and eSATA. Problem solved.
