First question is : i am looking 4 a decent laptop probably going to be the xps 1530 but i must choose either the 8300 or 9300. I will be doing mainly program developemnt and compiling, video games, and wordprocessing ,etc. will the extra 3mb cache do anything for me while doing the program development such as visual studio 2008?
second question isnt really about the processor specifically, but i didnt know where 2 post it.. : If i buy the xps and i want to install my own copy of vista ultimate, will there be drivers missing because the xps is dell and probably has prorietary drivers needed for the touch pad and stufF??? thanks.

personally, i would get the T9300. You probably will see a difference with the program development and multitasking.

i think you ll need t9300,cos you are doing proc. stressing thing and multitasking,so go for t9300,and you wont have any driver problem with 63 bit os

I would say it depends on the difference in price and what you really would do with the laptop.

Your DeLL should come with the drivers on a disk so no you should not have a problem switching. If you go to a 64bit version? No comment as DeLL does not offer, I doubt a major problem but since I don't know will stop talking.

Dell is great about providing drivers for both 32-bit & 64-bit - again, check the Dell forum.
