http://www.poweredbymushkin.com/index.php/catalog/46-striker.html
I recently had my reactor replaced under warranty from mushki n
So I happened to be browsing their other drives.
Now I don't know who makes what. I believe that these strikers are the same thing as a SanDisk extreme
With Psion controller.
And there's a reason I believe this is that SanDisk has moved to the 3d nand drives.
But this is the last capacity for the older planar mlc.
So while 3dnand will be 2 tb 4tb 8tb and above the planar mlc can still make 2 tb drives.
And they may be cheaper than the 3d nand ones. There's a few reasons they will be. But they may be similar in price.
May be sold by off brands like mushkin
Not available for sale just advertised.
Now to get a little nerdy. Even though mushki n doesn't have nand factories they are an ssd manufacturer unlike a lot of the off brands. What they do is buy the nand chips and put then on their boards.
This isn't good usually because the top feeder companies or resellers ( like tanscenf) use slc cache. That is what the top tier manufacturers keep away from mushki n.
The tech SanDisk will call ncache will make their version better.
It is the same with my reactor it is a crucial bx100 without slc cache

Yep, couldn't work out what you're saying/purpose in your post. "SSD's are good!" - that statement is perhaps just as useful!TomJGX, John Ratsey and ellalan like this. -
There's a link to a 2tb ssd. Do you have as reference any idea what that is? You're involved in the discussion in what way?
So there is a link to a product and then there's a theory as to what the actual product is .
Your post though it has no information at all...
So there's a title it says 2 tb 2.5 inch ssd.
Then there is a link to the product.
Then there's an explanation of what it is. Probably outside your field.
It describes different manufacturers different ssd technologies. Probably not a discussion you should enter.Last edited: Mar 6, 2016 -
This is the first 2 tb ssd I've heard advertised that wasn't a a Samsung 850 With 3d nand.
It is the older planar mlc technology
If you don't understand take one term at a time and look it up in the wikipedia.
If you don't understand the meaning of 2 tb ssd just read and don't post....who that may interest and why... -

Gotcha I may have over reacted.
I think the hidden point is that the mlc planar technology is not dead yet there is at least one more size upcomingRobbo99999 likes this. -

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
I don't think this one will be cheap enough to go mainstream - Striker series is overall more expensive than Reactor, and even those still leave a lot to be desired, price-wise. Saw a batch of Sandisk 960GB Enterprise MLC drives pop out on eBay for the price of Reactor - now that I'd bite if not more pressing needs. Alas, they were gone in couple days.

That's what this is starlight a similar thing.
SanDisk sells the 3d nand and resellers will sell their last planar mlc drives.
I have no idea what it will cost. It will compete with the 850 evo. 2tb. There is nothing else to compete with
2 tb 2.5 inch mushkin mlc ssd
