I have successfully swapped out the 160gb in my acer for a 320gb one and want to put the 160gb in an enclosure, any recommendations? It needs to be portable, and i live in the UK if it makes any difference

I would look for one which has USB, and firewire, and or esata, but it depends on what port your laptop/desktop use/have.
I made my own, and having esata and USB is really nice.
Just get one which appeals to you and has the right ports.

Why not just use the same external case that you pulled the HDD from? Thats what I did. I have a 100gb 7200rpm hitachi drive in my old WD passport now.

Cheap and a bit fat, but supporting both USB and eSATA is this Newlink enclosure. It supports both PATA and SATA HDDs and is a good choice if it is just staying at home. More expensive, but smaller is this Icy Box enclosure.
