    Hi,

I've got 2 x 500gb 7200 rpm hard drives and I was thinking of getting a dual drive enclosure that could allow me to use a RAID 0 on them.

I want to make sure I get full performance out of a RAID 0 and no bottleneck transfering on USB or eSata.

I've seen the SYBA SY-ENC25024 but I'm so not convinced the product is that good.

Have you guys tried different enclosures?

I forgot, I've also been looking at different benchmark tests and the eSata overall seems to handle better small files than USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 although for large file transfers, USB 3.0 was a tad faster.

I don't know what to think of that - I don't know what transfer speed I would get?

What kind of work files are you going to be storing/accessing on the drive? Large files like videos or something else? You going to be moving things on and off a lot?

Try looking at Welland ME-280J (although it's USB2/eSATA). I use it's bigger brother via eSATA (both use the same bridge/controller Micron JMB352) and I've never experienced any transfer bottleneck.

I'll be using the drives for both large and small files.

I checked the Welland Dual drive. Overall it seems to be a good product. Maybe their next product will have USB 3.0

    Thanks
