I am thinking of getting a smallish s-ips panel to hook up to my x200 ultrabase and my X200 tablet when it arrives.

    Any recommendations?

why do you need display port? you can get a display port to dvi and then connect it up to a dell 2209wa
    it is a 22" e-ips monitor for around $200

Lots of panels are on sale right now. It looks like the 22 inchers are the current bang/buck models. Nearly all modern panels will have at least a DVI input which matches up nicely with displayport and/or hdmi. Just get the 'best' panel you can find and then get the correct cable.

'Best' can be different things. If you are doing very fiddly photoshop or video work that includes precise color matching, then you need to spend your $$ on a monitor that has a wide color gamut, is very stable (LED lighting??) and can be calibrated with professional tools. The $$ you spend on 'quality' means that you may end up with a smaller monitor.

On the other paw, if you are an 'average' user, then get the biggest, baddest 1900x1200 monitor you can find. Pay some attention (but not too much) to things like color gamut and response time (video and games) but you can afford to be a size queen here.

I don't need displayport, but seeing as I have it on the Ultrabase I'd prefer to use it and not convert the connector.

Looking around the 22" does seem the way to go. But a 2209wa for $200 seems a steal for a S-IPS panel. Will have a look around see if I can get it here in the UK.

    Cheers

2209wa seems to be an E-IPS panel Uk Price is £197.77, not bad.
