Can you guys suggest some 5400rpm hdd's with at least 200gb of space that I can order for less than $90? I want to order a system, but the HDD is $90, if I can get it for cheaper I will.

The DDR3 RAM is also $120, but I can get DDR3 RAM from NCIX for $80. If anyone knows of any, link it please.

    You can search for the HITACHI Travelstar 7K200 200GB 7200RPM, TOSHIBA MK3252GSX 320GB, Western Digital WD1600BEKT 160GB 7200RPM, SAMSUNG M6 Series HM320JI 320GB, Fujitsu MHY2200BH 200GB, HITACHI Travelstar 5K250 and the 5K320....
These are a few HDDs I can think of, that should be cheap, in the $100-150 price bracket or lower. (Don't know of any canadian links, you could check out newegg if they ship to Canada)

Thanks, I'll take a look at those 5200 rpm (less heat, less $), but I'm looking for any deal that will beat $90, or else I just get theirs.

I don't know Canadian prices but the WD3200BEVT is $99 US and is the fastest of the 5400rpm drives.

Other 320GB/5400rpm drives are the Samsung, Fujitsu and Hitachi that Andy recommended, they can be gotten for $99 US.

Hitachi 7K200 200GB is 7200rpm, doesn't really get hot, costs $89 US and is faster than the 5400rpm drives.

Get the WD3200BEVT from NCIX with a price match, I got mine for $107.xx plus shipping.

I second the WD3200BEVT. There are loads of PCMark and HD Tune benchies of it on NBR.
It is fast, fairly quiet and has a pretty decent power consumption. (Check out the charts at Tomshardware)

They have good prices, & there is a retail store pretty close to me but I've never checked them out. Probably will though.

There's lots of good places in/around GTA. Infonec, PC Village are also 2 to consider.

I should have mentioned Infonec.ca and pcvonline.com (PC Village) - Both usually have good prices. I have shopped at Infonec in Markham a few times, but not PC Village. Canada Computers has the advantage of more retail locations.

A warning when shopping at these types of stores - they have great prices, but make sure you know exactly what you need before making a purchase. Otherwise there may be a restocking fee for returns/exchanges of non-defective items.
