    Will I be able to use a 22" 1680 x 1050 monitor on a m1330 with IntelĀ® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 3100?
I just want to use it for movies, no games.

Yes, you can. Good for movies, not for games and text is a bit blurry.
You can connect via DVI if possible, though connection through VGA and S-Video are also fine if just watching movies.

The M1330 has no DVI port or S-Video, only VGA and HDMI. I suggest buying an HDMI to DVI cable and doing that, and you won't have any problems with blurriness.

Is it extremely worth it to buy a $30 HDMI to DVI cable because with an extra $30, I could purchase a better monitor.

Um, well, considering to get a monitor with built in HDMI it's usually an extra hundred+ dollars, and I bought my HDMI->DVI cable for under 20... yeah it was worth it.
