When it comes to pushing a 1440 or 1600 pixel tall, 16:9/16:10 screen, what necessary outputs do you need? It seems the only reliable port I can find is Display Port or Mini Display Port. There are a few dual link DVI capable notebooks out there, but most seem to be single link DVI-D.

Stick with display port, it's quite a common in many machines and is the easiest way to go about it. Displays of that size usually are going to include it.
