lol... thanks for pointing that out... I was looking at the graph and thinking: wow, that's a pretty big difference.

I assume thats how Excel decides to plot it out

Running dual channel, I can't see why a DDR667 2x2gb would be faster than 2x1gb but I guess that's why it isn't even on the list. From the results I'd have to say that 3dmark06 is not memory intensive as it gives almost identical results (off by 1-2 points) from 1-4gb for single or dual channel which is to be expected.

And so this confirms what I have been saying about 4gb being pointless in a notebook
Sorry for you people who droped the money for 4gb of ram. -
3dMark is GPU limited, so those results mean PHOOEY. It says nothing about the usefulness of 4GB. -
I'd have to agree with you. If RAM were really dirt cheap and my PC could handle it, I'd probably have gotten 8GB for my laptop.
Just for the virtualization and future apps. I could dedicate 2GB to 3 separate OS's and still keep 2GB for my main O/S. Ie. I'm running XP and Ubuntu via VMWare on my Vista Premium machine. It works, but not as well as I'd like as I can only dedicate 512MB ram to each VM session and 1GB to Vista (anything less would be uncivilized for Vista). -

Hmm you two are the first I have ever run into to run more than one OS at the same time...
I hear VMWare is just buggy and not very efficant, so dont blame that completely on your memory -

I'd love to have 12gb of ram,
3gb ram
3gb ramdisk for pagefile
6gb ramdisk for a game to load at super blazing speed.
2GB SO-DIMM PC2-5300 memory upgrade
