    Title asks all.

Would the Ram speed affect the performance of my video card which is at 700 Mhz, especially when kicking into turbo cache??

    No.

Very likely your laptop's chipset supports "667MHz" RAM modules. If you use "800MHz" modules, they would be downclocked to 667MHz. The benefit using faster RAM is that you _might be able_ to use lower/tighter timings ==> Really not worth it.

so I take it the 3 GB 667 MHz option is better?

the RAM is DDR2 and the GPU is DDR3

Why do you need 3GBs? Is your laptop sluggish? Are you editing huge pictures?

Not knowing which laptop you have and what you do with it, I'd say stick with same size sticks, 2x1GB PC2-5300. Besides, PC2-6400 is way more expensive at least where I live. If you really need more than 2GB of RAM, save some money and get 2x2GB sticks at the same time. At least you wouldn't lose "dual channel" mode by using identical modules. But then again, 4GB might be an overkill because maybe your OS won't see it all...

(Pst! Next time give us more information about you system. Then helping you might be a bit easier. :) )

Quantity of RAM is so much more important than the speed. From my experience, the performance differences of any speed of DDR2 RAM are (at this time) negligible at best.

RAM speed does not affect your video card performance. No chipset currently supports 800MHz RAM. Also, the effect of turbo cache is negligible in real world cases.
