On my 'aging' ASUS G51Vx (SATA II) as noted in my signature.

Not sure why the write speeds are more than my read speeds, but the results are repeatable. 040H firmware loaded on both M4's.

That is odd. It may just be a benefit of RAID.

However, quite amazing a single SATA III drive is equal to SATA II RAID more or less (if not faster)

And fwiw here's my mSATA on SATA II connection:

The funny thing is that I use my mSATA for my main system drive when I used to use my SATA III drive, and I really don't notice much difference in performance.

That's because sequential speeds aren't really noticeable. The difference in access time is negligible and the difference in 4K random read/writes is not very much (absolute, not relative, think like FPS, above 60+ isn't really much different - same with SSD 4k random R/W speeds).

And here is 1x crucial m4 128gb in SATA III NON-RAID here is result .. Huge difference .. THAT RAID 0 in SATA II is poor .. SATA III makes huge difference..
