I currently have 2x512MB@667MHz of ram, which is a gig at 667. Would upgrading it to 2 gigs but dropping down to 533MHz be worth it? I intend to use my computer to do gaming like BF2, CoD2, F.E.A.R., and maybe a little bit of WoW.

If you'd care to check a few other recent thread there have been 2 or 3 on this subject. The difference in ram speeds at this level is barely noticeable, whilst a larger amount of ram will have an immediate and marked effect on performance.

I can tell you for sure that 2GB ram is much better than 1GB for fear, something about swap files, makes it run a lot quicker and smoother.

I ve seen somewhere stated that 667mhz and 533 mhz performance difference arent that much apart. This maybe because the 667mhz have more cycles than the 533mhz, thus making them less or about equal.
