    Hi,
I have a weird question, but humor me please.
Is there anything, absolutely anything that a 3.2GHZ P4 with HT will do better then a Core duo 2.16GHZ?

    Thank You.

Not really, no. Perhaps some encoding or major data transfer, but that's even unlikely. If it's not a movie-encoding server, then the Core Duo is going to always be better.

What he said ^. you'd have a hard time utilizing 2.16 ghz much less 3.4 unless ur doing intense calculations....like....a billion digits of pi or something. and if you have a second application running, duo will trounce the single core p4 (yes, i'm a rapper).

the moral: go for the duo.

The Pentium 4 will make a better heater in the winter, and also waste more electricity - the Core Duo doesn't do either very well. ;)

If you said P4 4Ghz then I may find something it does better otherwise its not a comparison really.
