So I want to get a USB hub to hook up all my peripherals, and I was thinking that perhaps I could hook up my speakers as well.

These speakers use a standard 3.5mm audio jack. So I need a 3.5mm to USB cable.

Are there adapters for such a setup? Would they affect the sound quality?

Are you looking for an external sound card ? Or a direct 3.5mm to USB cable ?!

    I don't think they exist. The USB hub/cable won't decode/encode audio signals.
You would need to have something like this or this, and connect the 3.5mm jacks into it.

Yeah, those are fine. Not sure if that's what you meant by external sound card.

    Thanks :D

Yeah, pretty much. BTW I would adise you to go for the Griffin iMic. I've owned it for more than a year under the most 'severe' conditions, and it still works well :D (tuchwud) [+ it has good bass/treble settings :p]
