Hey guys, havnt been on here in a while but i need some real help.

ive been using this WesternDigital External MyBook 320GB Hard drive for a little over a year now. Now i know, im not going to have 320 Gbs, i think i actually had around 302-303 Gbs out of the box. Anyways, it had about 127 Gbs left, and all the files were corrupted. Thinking this was wrong, i ejected the Hard Drive, and plugged it back in. When plugging it back in, it said that the drive had to be formated. Knowing that this would delete everything, i still decided to do it. So after it formated, it still shows 127 Gbs, but yet... there are no files on the drive. Ive selected to show hidden files and everything. So what is going on here?

Is some of the space being used by partition(s) which aren't being recognised?

You can use a Gparted LiveCD to get a look at where all the space is going.

XP, and you don't need linux to run GParted. Just burn it to a disc, and boot through it.

Chances are that a chunk of the space on your drive is either unallocated or, if you ever dual-booted Linux, formatted as ext3.

WD stores in FAT, doesnt that use like 3/4 of your space for nothing? convert to NFTS.

Use disk manager and delete all partitions and recreate them.

Its not picking up that there are multiple partitions.
