I'm planning on getting a 32GB ssd for my new d630.
I've not been following the SSD news to closely so I'm just wondering a few things.

1st. When I install an SSD will the computer automatically recognize it like it would a normal Hard Drive?

2nd. Will windows xp recognize it?

3rd. does the physical size matter? EXAMPLE-1.8" or 2.5"

    Thanks in Advance :)

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. Yes. But I'm quite sure the you can get a case for the smaller one, to make it fit in the larger one.

Mind you I'm a newbie when it comes to SSD. But this is how it worked with me, when I once tried upgrading a Vostro :)

    Thanks.
After thinking it over for a while. I've decided to stick with the hard drive that the laptop is originally going to come with. I'll mostl likely upgrade to an ssd in 1 yr or whenever ssd advances.

    Thanks again

SSDs have advanced but are a bit costly at times...Feel free to check out the threads below.
