    Hi!

I'm thinking in upgrading my VAIO T2XP which use a 50pin PATA 1.8" HDD with an SSD. I found a 16GB Samsung SSD 50pin in ebay but no way to found a 32gb version.

I found also adpters from ZIF to 50pin so I could use the MTRON 32gb SSD. The problem is... is there enough space inside a T series VAIO to fit the adpter??

    Thank You!

nethawk you know for a while i thought that you had the TX2P model. When i replied to you in the Vaio P thread that is what i had in mind. I was reading your model number back to front or something.

Your laptop takes a 1.8 IDE hard drive and it should take a drive like this.

I have seen them go on Ebay from time to time. Probably it is just a matter of waiting for one to turn up again.

This does not answer your question about the adapters though and whether they would fit. It also might not just be a question of adapters fitting though given the graphics card that you have in your laptop. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this.

    Edited to add:
This is the spec sheet to your laptop.

Graphics card manufacturer & model Intel 855GME
    Graphics processor Intel 855GME

I think that this might be the disassembly guide as well. Your HD looks like the Type 2 drive.

I am going to move your thread for you to the hardware forum.
