So I'm currently running 32gbs (2x16) of Ram at 2666Mhz.

Upgrading to an Alienware that has room for 4 slots. I have an extra module that is 4gbs also at 2666Mhz but a different model.

Is it worth adding to have a total of 36gbs or is it going to slow down the overall speed or not make it worth it?

    I'm currently running:
Patriot Viper Steel Peformance DDR4 16GB 2666MHz CL18 SODIMM Memory

    The extra module is:
    Micron MTA4ATF51264HZ-2G6E1 Non ECC PC4-2666V 4GB DDR4 at 2666MHz

    Thank you!

Not worth it unless you are editing 4K video (or processing huge sound files) on that system.

If you had 2x 4GB RAM modules, I'd say do it. With a single Sodimm though? Probably not worth it except in edge cases where the RAM capacity is more important than other parameters. ;)
