I'm really into the 3D thing with laptops since they started showing up with the Asus G51j series. With the new Asus ROG G53 series coming out soon it to will have an 120 hertz screen ready for 3D.As you see in the quote its saying that even if you don't have a 120 hertz screen you can still get a 3D capable monitor to hook up through HDMI and game 3d that way. Can some one explain the details on this. Which models of notebooks can this be done with now? How does using 3D on an external monitor differ from using it on a screen that's already attached to the laptop and can you game on a 3d external monitor and game on your 3D capable LCD on the laptop at the same time?

Lol ... my own personal opinion on 3d is that it's utterly idiotic and a waste of time and resources.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 3d that does not require special equipment/headgear, like the nintendo 3ds, will be standard on all laptops, and there will be an option to turn it on and off

Imo, 3D is a waste of time unless you have a large excess of FPS. Enabling it usually makes your frame rate go down by more than half. If that's crysis then divide 4fps by 2 and you get 2. Have fun with your slideshow.
