as you see from my sig i hav a go7600 on the way to me. the laptop also has v good processor, ram and hdd, i dont know how much that affects 3dmark scores tho.

anyway wen i get it, which probably wont be until the end of june, i will post a 3dmark05 score. another thing, it claims to hav 512mb of memory, but doesnt say if this is dedicated or not, im not quite sure what to make of that. you think this could be nvidia using their equivalent of hypermemory or something like that?

What laptop is it? It is most likely 512MB's dedicated like the Asus A8jm. I'm not sure if different versions of the 7600 exist.

theres a 128mb and 256mb version of the 7600, if it says 512mb id say thats through turbocache (nvidia version of hypermemory)

Sorry, your incorrect on this one. There may be 128 and 256MB versions of this card but also 512. There are 512MB dedicated Geforce 7600 cards. Take the one in the A8jm for example. Here... I will round up some links.

    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18502&vpn=90NF7A831326501L51&manufacture=ASUS
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2984&review=Asus
    http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-ASUS_A8JM_H001P_1_83_100_1G_14W_DVDSM_XP
    http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1095&l1=5&l2=61&l3=0

They all say 512MB's not 512MB's Turbocached.

samw1se the 7600 in the zepto 6615 is for absolute deifinte a 512mb dedicatred card, no turbocache involved.
its the same card as in their 6214, just clocked a litlle lower, and should get around 2400 points in 3dmark06 at 1024x768 (see trusted reviews zepto 6214 review) and about 3600 in 3dmark05 i would reckon

    - yes ati lovers the 7600 is much lower in 05 than your x1600s, but in 3dmark06 or fps comparisons its at least as good or better :p

In '05 the 7600 usually gets around 3800 pts. Overclocked I have seen it get as high as 4500pts. But the X1600 I have seen it go over 5200pts in 05' overclocked! But I still think the X1600 fully overclocked gets higher than the 7600 fully overclocked in '06.

^ You don't have to be scared. You just take it one step at a time... Once you download an overclocking program, you just increase the core and memory frequency by 10mhz at a time. Then run 3dmark05. When you start seeing artifacts or if the temperature gets a little high, turn it down a bit. ;) You will start to see artificats way before you start actually damaging the actual card.

ok what overclocking program do you recommend? preferably one that makes it simple because i really dont know the first thing about overclocking. also if you overclock one part of the computer do you need to overclock the others?

You could download X-Treme G drivers from tweaksrus. There drivers have a built in overclocking tool. Coolbits is also an option. And powerstrip. I have used them all and really, they are all just as good in my opinion.

Great... Good luck and be sure to run 3dmark05 to test for artifacts. Let us know what settings your card works well at, and what you were able to overclock it to, and your new 3dmark score :)

    For anybody interested:

I've been OC ing the Go 7600 on my A8Jm, and at 505 core (mem not touched yet, still at 400) I get 3dMarks 06 score of 2507. Still going at 510, no artifacts. When I start getting artifacts, should I reduce it down by 10 MHz and then try the mem? or should I leave mem alone?

Reduce it by 5mhz when you get artifacts, then do the same with the memory. That way you will find the max both can take. 2507 is really good for not even touching the memory yet. Keep it up ;)

One of the problems I've run into is figuring out exactly which driver to download. I've gotta GeForce Go 7400 in my XPS m1210, but there're so many versions to sort through. How do you guys figure out which one to choose?

Oh yeah...and running the latest Dell provided nVidia drivers and slightly o/c'd via PowerStrip, I get around 2080 on the rig listed below.

    HH ;)

The Sager 5760 Im buying is supposed to have 8,500+ 3d Mark 05 score, and 4,200+ 3d Mark 06 score.
It has a nVdia GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 512mb memory.

actually, I've heard that they're comparable, with only a few hundred 3Dmarks difference depending on system configuration.

Yea i just bought an Alienware m-5750 with these specs:
    2.33 Ghz core duo
    2 gigs of ram
    80 gig 7200 rpm hdd
    8x dvd-rw drive
256 mb ATI Mobility Radeon x1800

Anyone know about what kind of 3dmark scores i could expect to see with that setup? Stock? OC'd? Thanks.
Just from a couple other reviews on notebookreview, i expect to get above 6500 stock, and maybe in the 7000's OC'd in 3dmark05 is that reasonable?

Well i for one am pretty confused. I've seen this mentioned before, a "512mb 7600", always in the European models. How is it that my 128mb 7600 gets 3302 (stock) in 3dmark05, and this 7600 which supposedly has 512mb of dedicated memory, which is a MASSIVE amount of dedicated GPU memory, only gets 3600? Something isn't right. Is this 512 British megabytes or what? The 7600GT which only has 256 dedicated gets in the 5 thousand region. The first I had ever heard of a true 512mb card was the 7900GTX, and it gets in the 8-9k region stock in 3dmark05. Any explanations?

My results are in my sign. if you'd like to add them. Just got the laptop yesterday.
