    Hello,
i've ordered HP pavilion dv6580ee laptop which comes with 200GBs hard disk @ 4200rpm
my question is , does it worth buying new hard disk with 7200rpm?
i've seen other posts talking about better perfromance between 5400 and 7200, so i guess 4200 to 7200 will bring much better performance

and what's the good brands for laptop hard disks?
    thanks

4200RPM to 7200RPM is a huge leap and you will see CONSIDERABLE speed differences between the two. 5400RPM not so much, but still 7200 IS faster.

As to whether it's worth buying a new, faster HD....That is up to you. I would recommend getting a 5400RPM one as they are cheaper than the 7200RPM ones.

I've had good experiences with Fujistsu, Toshiba, and Seagate 2.5" drives.

the difference between 4200 and 5400 is quite dramatic and the difference between 5400 and 7200 is much less so. For most user, going to a 5400 would be quite good enough.

Try it first, then if you want faster follow the advice. And make sure to get the sticker that says 7200 it makes it faster and so everyone knows (joking)
