I have a dell m15x and I am trying to upgrade from a 240m to 460m. I recently found out that the 460m card I got was for a m17x r3 an is slightly thicker than the m15x version. It slots into place but when i try to screw the heatsink xbracket down, the screws in the xbracket are not long enough and do not reach the holes.Has anyone ever installed this card in an m15x and do i need to make any modifications. I was thinking longer screws would work but would i need a different xbracket and will it overheat or will it work the same. I have uploaded a pic also of the card. It is thicker just over the chip were the metal frame is.

That does look different to my GTX 460m. Does your heatsink have the C-clip screws? These screws are attached to the heatsink? You can just remove the C-clips and find some longer screws that fit that heatsink from a hardware store. That is exactly how I got my old x-bracket from a Clevo card to work with my Dell 7970m.

Yes it has the c-clip screws. Everything lines up perfect and it slots into place. The only thing wrong is the screws are too short because its thicker around the chip. I was thinking of getting longer screws but was worried about compatibility. Will this card work the same as the m15x version without any drawbacks and will the heatsink work as if it has the proper card installed. I'm just worried I will install it and it will overheat or damage the card.
