so which ones should I connect to ?

    there are 1: (TR1), 2: (TR2) and the middle one is labeled 3: (R0)

I have this card as left over so I decided to upgrade my other T61 laptop that has 3945 card so that I can use some N speeds, if possible. I know for example that the 5100 card is N and uses 2 antennas only, so I think my upgrade should be worth somewhat.

right now I'm thinking to go with TR1 and TR2, so does anybody know what the R0 in the middle is for ?

    thanks

I'm confused, do you have 2 or 3 connectors (wires for the wireless card)?

Connect the grey wire to TR1, black to TR2. Normally the white antenna goes to R0 but since you don't have that you can ignore it.

    Here's my configuration:

I agree with Hearst, there is no need for the white antenna which I confirmed when I used the BCM4312 card (only 2 connectors).

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but originally my T61 with the 4965 came with the antennas connected this way: Gray (TR1) - White (R0) - Black (TR2)

my FRU is the same as yours on the picture.

EDIT: what hardware revision is your card ? ... you can check in driver properties. I think mine is 1.0.40, but another Dell here has same card but revision 2.0.40

After surfing the web for answers, I came across this post on another site that explained a possible reason for the significance of a 3rd antenna.

I'm not so sure where you found the hardware version; however, I did find this:

    Code:
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4230&SUBSYS_11108086&REV_61
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4230&SUBSYS_11108086
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4230&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4230&CC_0280

hmmm ... appears to be working just fine, connects at 130MBit because of my router (I've seen up to 144 on my primary laptop with the 3 antennas though) and I see all networks around (about 15 or so).

I'll continue testing as I had problems with it before, but if it has been driver issue then I'm gonna eat my shoe for upgrading it to 5300, lol.

current driver is ver 13.4.0.139 and I dont believe to have tested that one before ... hmmm ...

P.S. I went with connecting TR1 and TR2, so the middle R0 is not connected. My network is WPA2-PSK with AES on preset channel 3 at 20MHz locked. Way too many networks on channels 1,6, and 11 ... if you're wondering why 3.
