I have an old ASUS laptop that is not with me right now (nor do I know the model) that was purchased ~1.5 years ago. I am guessing it's either Sonoma or Napa.

It comes with the Intel 3945abg. Can I swap a 4965agn in for it? I can get it for ~$40 where I live (OEM).

I think that the 3945 is PCI Express, so if it is, then yes it will work.

    Ah thanks.

I know it would physically fit, but what about firmware/software-wise?

I heard you can't upgrade the wifi card in HP and IBM's, as they lock the BIOS to the card, are they the only two?

    Thanks
