    I've read people using 4gb sticks with their gm965 chipset. Does this work for all GM965 chipsets or only with particular laptops? The laptop in question is the lenovo U110.

    Depending on your BIOS support. I've two PM and GM 965 machines in my sig with a single 4GB stick. You'll have to try it out yourself for your Lenovo; not that I know of anyone has ever tried 8GB on that thing.
