Hey all. So I play online poker as I mentioned in my old posts in my old threads. At the moment, I have 2 monitors that are 24' and 1920 x 1200 resolution which is good. But the thing is I want to get higher resolution because that way, I could put more tables visible. I know most of you don't know much about online poker but basically with my 24' monitors and 1920 x 1200 resolution, I could put 4 default size tables on each monitor... so with 2 monitors... I can see 8 tables. But if I'm playing more tables... imagine 12 tables or 16 tables or even 20 tables, well you see 4 tables on each monitor but behind each table, there are more tables behind it.

Now I tried to put 6 tables on each of my 24' monitor... so that way I could view a total of 12 throughout the 2 monitors. But the main issue was... the tables are a bit too small and uncomfortable to look at... so I had to make it the default size. Now I read from others who play online poker and have 4k monitors... thus 3840 x 2160 resolution... they seem to have 27-28' or even 32' monitor. I believe someone mentioned they play on a big 42' monitor or tv... I'm not sure which one. You could if you want tile 12 or 16 tables on a monitor even the one I have now at 24' but the issue is it would be way too small to read anything so I cannot do that.

But I do know if i have a 4k monitor... I would easily be able to put 6 tables on the monitor even if the table is a bit smaller. Now my questions is this.

Which monitor would you suggest on the list here from amazon? Note, I posted amazon.com but I'm not in the US now... but I could find some of these monitors where I'm located now.

    Samsung 28' $300 + tax
    Amazon.com: Samsung 28-Inch UE570 UHD 4K Gaming Monitor (LU28E570DS/ZA) – 60Hz Refresh, Computer Monitor, 3840 x 2160p Resolution, 1ms Response, FreeSync, Split Screen, HDMI, Black: Computers & Accessories

    LG 27' $348+ tax
Amazon.com: LG 27UL500-W 27-Inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Monitor with Radeon Freesync Technology and HDR10, White: Computers & Accessories

    Philips 27' $241+ tax
Amazon.com: Philips 276E8VJSB 27" Monitor, 4K UHD IPS, 1 Billion+ Colors, Ultranarrow Borders, Lowblue, Multiview, 4Yr Advance Replacement Warranty: Computers & Accessories

    AOC 27' $290+tax
    Amazon.com: AOC U2790VQ 27" 4K 3840x2160 UHD Frameless Monitor, IPS, 5ms, 1 Billion+ Colors, DisplayPort/HDMI inputs, VESA: Computers & Accessories

    Asus 28' $253+tax
    Amazon.com: Asus VP28UQG 28" Monitor 4K/UHD 3840x2160 1ms DP HDMI Adaptive Sync/FreeSync Eye Care Monitor: Computers & Accessories

    Samsung 32' $400+tax
Amazon.com: Samsung 32 inch UJ59 4k monitor (LU32J590UQNXZA) - UHD, 3840 x 2160p, 60hz, 4ms, Dual monitor, laptop monitor, monitor stand / riser / mount compliant, AMD FreeSync, Gaming, HDMI, DP, Black: Computers & Accessories

So from looking at this, it seems like the best value is the samsung 28' which is $300+tax? Seems to have excellent reviews. I see philips 27' is the cheapest one of them all but seems to have okay reviews. LG 27'... seems not good idea since paying 50 dollars more than samsung and 1' smaller than samsung 28'?

The AOC... probably avoid since most people never heard of this model?

The asus 28' seems to be a very good price. But does anyone know why its so low for a 28' since asus is a pretty nice brand?

And if 32' the samsung is pretty good?

Now is it worth paying a bit more for a 32' as oppose to 27'/28'?

Another question I have is this. Is it a bad idea to get a 40'+ tv with 4k resolution and use that as a monitor? I notice those tv's are close to price or even cheaper than some of these monitors that are 27'/28'

Also I like to add that I have dell xps 15 9550 laptop so I connect my 2 monitors now that are 24'... one is via thunderbolt and one that is hdmi. Now I'm not looking to get 2 of these 4k monitors at the moment... just want to get 1 to try it. But does it matter if it has only hdmi or both? Since well... I have cables for both hdmi and thunderbolt?

All of the monitors above are a terrible idea for online poker (much like online poker itself). You will inevitably run into scaling issues etc on monitors this size. I would recommend 40 inch plus which you can think of as 4 FHD monitors in one.

Buy a 50" (or two) or bigger 4K TV(s) instead. As @etern4l states, 4 FHD screens on each one will give you sixteen tables easily on each TV.

Anything smaller is a complete joke. Use as a TV to make the cost easier to swallow.

If you need to sit close, make sure you buy a curved one to see good details at the edges when you're closer.

I have a 43" Acer Et430k I believe. I think it's the largest I would go for desk up close use.

@etern4l are you running it natively at 4K? I would agree that at 43' (feet), it would be the largest I could hope for in my office too. :D

With effectively 4x 21.5" FHD monitors, it seems too small to me.

Corrected the typo lol. I'm also using a 15 inch FHD laptop as a secondary/ternary display, but it's not super-comfortable at a distance. Consequently FHD at 22 inch would be fine IMHO. I also use 25 inch FHD monitors and can see pixel structure clearly, although it's not disturbing. Definitely max size for FHD and could go smaller for sure. I also had a 22 inch 1650x1080 monitor - this clearly lacked resolution.

4K at anything above 43" would have to be curved for desk use, defo not a TV and probably on the pricier side.

To be fair, a lot depends on the distance to the screen. My screens are around the recommended arm's length, but I guess 50" would be fine on some super-deep desks.

4K panel upgrade on your laptop itself might get you what you want and not cost you a fortune either like an external display whether PC specific or TV.

I just swapped my display from FHD to QHD for $150 for the panel, cable, shipping from China.

He needs screen estate. There is a lot of detail on those poker tables.

QHD on a laptop provides the same real estate as a huge monitor. The only difference is the physical size of the panel whether 15.6 or 17" on the laptop. Adjusting the text size down to 150-175% can allow tiling of multiple tables just as well as a bigger external screen. If you drop the text size even further you could scale up the number of windows even further but might need some readers to view things accurately.

So, 4K packed into a tiny laptop display running at 150-175% scaling provides the same real estate as a larger monitor running at 100%?

Upgrading your laptop panel to 4K effectively gives you 4X the space for windows vs FHD.

Whether you'll be able to read the text on a 4K at native sizing is a different issue. For a game though you can adjust things by resizing the window and the scale changes with the window size.

I have my server connected to my 4K TV and it works fine that way as well... so, I've done both and dropping $600 on a TV vs $150 on a laptop panel for poker..... Now if you're "making a living" playing online poker then it might be worthwhile to get a huge 4K screen for tiling the windows but, if it's a pass time event it might make more sense to save some cash.

But these 4K TVs or monitors are not that expensive (or at least they weren't last year!). IMHO, based on experience, 4K on a small screen will be disaster for this particular use case (whereas it might be fine for many games for instance). If the OP is a successful poker player, he should be pulling in well in excess of $100k p.a. and therefore can afford a proper monitor.

Okay so for some reason I never considered this... but what about using a 43' 4k tv as a monitor?

    https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-50-i...d=1&keywords=4k+tv&qid=1599512304&sr=8-1&th=1

From looking at this 4k tv, you could literally put 12 tables standard size in it. I actually seen this monitor in person recently and from looking at it, I could put 12 tables. That is more than the 4 tables on each table and total of 8 tables on my two 24' inch 1920x1200 monitor each.

I saw there was a 50' and 55' tv and with the 55' tv... you could put 16 tables on it easily.

Is this a bad idea or not? But aren't using tv as a monitor bad for the eyes?

Yes I do play online poker full time. I took a look and it seems that the 43' samsung 4k tv is not even that expensive when you compare it to the 27'28 or 32' monitors... well I wouldn't buy it from amazon.com since I'm not in the US now... but it would cost around $410 or so for it where im located now.

If i get say a 27/28 or 32' monitor... that would still be at least 340 dollars minimum for a 27/28 but more like the same price as the samsung 43' 4k tv.

And if i get a 32' 4k monitor... that would cost even more than this 43' 4k tv. But is it fine using a 43' 4k tv as a primary monitor? Thing my concern is would it be bad for the eyes? Is it hard to reach text since you are up close to it compared to a monitor?

Maybe WQHD(2560x1440) is worth a look as an alternative to 4k, which is going to be hard to read on smaller monitor.

Hey. Oh no I want the 4k 3840x2160.

Also something else. My monitor has hdmi 1.4. Apparently almost all tv and monitors with 4k 3840x2160 require hdmi 2.0 and above? I read you can use hdmi 1.4 with it but it won't work at 60hz and only 30hz... which mean it would lag and lot of issues? So what would i need to buy for that? A hdmi adapter that is 4k?

Thoughts on these 43' 4k TV as monitors? I read the reviews and the second one cheaper one TCL, lot of ppl say they use it as a monitor and its good.

Also for samsung, i mean 43'... not 50'. But 50' would be way too big on a desk right? I seen the actual samsung 43' in person and it looks like a good size.

Whats the difference between these two where is a $100 or so difference?

Also, is there any issue using it with my xps 15 9550 with its video card/graphics card? I have Intel R HD Graphics 530. But there is also nvidia but hwich one is it? Would my laptop be able to use the 4k tv with no issue? I do recall someoen said i need to buy a usb-c to hdmi 2.0 adapter because the tv goes 60hz but my laptop because it has hdmi 1.4 only would go 30 hz?

Okay so I am going to get a 4k tv/monitor soon as my current setup of 2 monitors of 24' and 1920x1200 resolution... is good but i want something more modern. I been procrastinating this for a very long time.

I think the best option would be a 43' 4k TV. Do you all agree with this? I seen how a 43' 4k tv looks and wow its pretty big... but also... i was looking at how big it is and it seems like i could fit 12 tables easily on the screen.... i might be able to fit 15 tables. And these tables would be a big size.

My current setup, i could get 4 big tables on each monitor so 8 tables total. I could make 6 tables on each monitor to get 12 but the issue is the table is a bit too small for me to look at... as its not comfortable. I know for a fact that I could easily put 12 big tables on a 43' 4k TV as people mentioned on the poker forum that is good enough. Some said you could even put 20 tables on it but tables are much smaller.

Now, can anyone here confirm I need that cable I posted above in order to use a 4k TV? So the cable i have won't work? Someone said it would work though.

My options right now are basically

    1. 43' 4k TV

    2. 32' 4k Monitor

    3. Get 2 27-28' 4k Monitors

Obviously 3rd option is most expensive. And with the 32' monitor, I know i could probably put 9 tables easily big size. But the thing is would using it next to one of my 24' be not good as it look uneven? That way i could get 13 full size tables on 2 monitors. Of course I could get 2 32' 4k monitors and thus easily have 9 tables each so 18 big tables which is more than enough. But that would set me back $365 each or so for $730. Im outside the US now so here electronics are much more expensive than in the US.

It would be foolish to even get a 27' compared to a 32' if the 27' cost like 60 dollars more right?

This is what im looking at for a 43' 4k TV

    Samsung 43' 4k - $430 roughly

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B08FBSZ2LX/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AVDBXBAVVSXLQ&psc=1

    Samsung 43' 4k - $380

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/Samsung-C...+tv&qid=1606578820&s=electronics&sr=1-23&th=1

    Hisense 43' 4k - $335

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/Hisense-4...k+tv&qid=1606578820&s=electronics&sr=1-7&th=1

    Samsung 32' 4k Monitor - $360

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B07G8TLL7Q/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=AVDBXBAVVSXLQ&psc=1

    LG 27' 4k Monitor - $417
    https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B07PGL2WVS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=AVDBXBAVVSXLQ&psc=1

I mean, if I get a 43' 4k tv, I will probably only use it only...i mean i could use one of my 24' monitors as a 2nd monitor... but i dont have enough room in my table for that.

It does seem like 2 monitors are better than 1 monitor if you are web browsing and doing things like that right? It seems like playing online poker, 1 big monitor is good because you don't need to move your neck left and right ... anyone agree with this?

You're making this too hard. Forget 2 baby monitors that are 27" to 32". That isn't an upgrade. They won't give you an advantage for the sizes you can buy to fit on your desk, for your use. If a 24" monitor won't fit 6 tables easily, the 27" will be just as bad. The 32" maybe 'usable', but still not ideal compared to what you have now. 6 / 4 = 1.50 vs. 32 / 24 = 1.33.

Just look at your current setup. To get better, you need a third monitor of the same size. Or a 4K monitor of at least 48". Which will give you 4x 1080P monitors on one screen, each 24" big.

I'm typing this on a 50" nominal (49" actual) TV. I want two of these, but my desk won't be usable if I get another one.

Download MS PowerToys to make the screen do what you want via Fancy Zones. For browsing, I am using almost 2/3's of the monitor. No 'little' monitor can match that. Nor two or three either.

Buy a quality 50" TV or larger if the sales are in your favor today and finish this already. :)

Hi. Well i think with a 27' 4k monitor... 6 tables on it... the size would be more reasonable. Im positive i could easily have 6 tables on each monitor on a 32' 4k monitor. That im 100% sure of. I think i could put 8 full size tables on a 32'. But again, i dont think it would be good idea to use a 32' and 24' side by side as that would look a bit awkward.

On the poker forum, many people said and suggested to use a 40' or 43' 4k tv as a monitor. A lot of them said a 50' is way too big on a desk/table. You don't agree on this? Many said if you want to use a TV as a monitor... don't go over 43'. That seem to be like the cutoff point for many users... remember these are ppl who play poker online. Also wouldn't it be just too big 50? I thought it would be like looking up all the time... which might seem uncomfortable?

Right now, im looking at a 43' 4k tv as my best option... 2nd option would be like 2 monitors of 32' or 27-28' but of course that is more expensive. Also where im located, a 27' and 28' is actually more expensive than a 32'. So you would say if you get a monitor, obviously get the 32' as oppose to 27-28' if its same price right?

Okay so most likely I will get the 2nd link samsung 43' 4k tv

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/Samsung-C...X2Z9/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1

    I actually have 3 cables

    usb c to hdmi cable

    https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B06Y6448WB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

usb c to display port cable

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J6DT070/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    hdmi to hdmi cable

I made a mistake earlier saying i was using the chotech usb c to hdmi cable... as im actually using the cable matters usb c to display port cable with one of my 24' monitor ... and the other is the hdmi cable to hdmi cable. The usb c to hdmi cable... i still have it with me.

So if i get this 43' 4k samsung TV, none of the cables i have would work with the samsung tv right at 60hz? Thus if i use the cables i have, it would be 30hz and thus lag with the mouse movements?

But if i get the samsung 32' 4k monitor... would i still need a new cable?

I want to buy everything online at once so don't want to get the TV... the find out i need another cable then have to wait another week for it.

Hey there. But would i need to worry about other issues with a TV such as input lag, mouse movement and also sitting really close to the TV though? On the poker forums, most still recommend a monitor over a TV... because well a TV is suppose to be for TV use.

Right now I either am getting a 43' 4k tv... or a 32' 4k monitor... price is roughly the same. Now if i get a 43' 4k tv, i think i would only use the tv and not use my 24' monitor because i dont have enough space on my desk for it. My desk is basically 4 feet wide total only. I put my 2 monitors on it and my laptop etc.

Now if i get a 32' 4k monitor, well i would be also using one of my 24' monitors along side it.

Also I thought this. With using a 43' 4k tv... when i do things like web browsing and everything else... isn't it going to look weird though and not comfortable as oppose to a monitor? I feel like it wouldn't look as good as a monitor.

Do you get eye strain when using a big tv as a monitor? I also sit pretty close to my two 24' monitors. Im less than 2 feet from it. So with a 43' TV, I think i would be sitting at around 2.5 feet to at most 3 feet from it. So would using it be a bit awkward?

Right now im kinda leaning toward just getting a 32' 4k monitor and using it with one of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors. Do you agree/disagree with this?

I will say... if i could get two 32' 4k monitors and use them side by side, that would be probably the ideal situation. But I also don't want to spend that much money on it.

TV, monitor, both are made to be looked at. Have you ever spent one minute on TV Reviews: Best of 2020 - RTINGS.com?

I took a look at that. But the issue is I'm not in the US... so they don't have the exact models where I'm located...

But isn't web browsing and other things might be a bit weird while looking at a TV as oppose to a monitor?

Don't worry about the models. Learn/research the tell-tell signs of a good/great TV in PC-Monitor mode.

Our eyes are not prejudiced, they see all things of quality, equally well.

A look isn't enough. Go study the great info on that site. All your questions are answered there.

P.S. To be sure, a PC Monitor is of higher quality than a TV (that's why TVs are considered in the first place, they're cheaper...), but we're talking about poker here, there is nothing hard about this for either a TV or a monitor. With the presumption that the TV has good enough qualities for presenting text, etc.

P.P.S. Why are you spamming the forum with the same questions? No wonder you're confusing yourself. :)

Well i took a look at the 43' and 50' 4k tvs where im located and well they are big ... i could literally put 15 full size tables on a 43' from looking at it. Compare that with 4 tables each on my 24'. Also... if i got two 27' 4k monitors, im positive 6 full size tables or at least close to full size would work... which gives me 12 total tables.

Well I was surprised people talked about that chroma subsampling which would cause a lag with the mouse which is something i never heard of. That would be a huge issue for me because when i move my mouse from table to table on different monitors, i cannot have it lag at all. Like if it lags the mouse movement a bit each time, that would be very annoying. But majority of tv's dont have that issue right? Again, im outside the US, so the site you posted... well there are models that are very similar so its the international version of it i guess and same thing?

Yea i know a monitor is higher quality than a TV. But i was shocked that people could use a big 4k tv as a monitor... i never thought of that as an idea because i felt a tv was for watching tv and movies... not using it for their daily computer task. But you would not recommend a TV though as a monitor right?

Thing is if I didn't play poker, I would not even change my setup as its fine already. When i check youtube, most people with poker setups or gaming setups or just 2-3 monitor setups, they have monitors and not tvs. Well some do... and some recommend it as well... but when reading text, wouldn't a monitor always be better than a TV though? I do browse forums a lot as well and read text and for some reason i feel like looking at a 4k TV would cause eye strain or something.

I checked on amazon for a 40' or 43' monitor and they actually have a few of them... the issue is the cost like $600 or over $1000 for it. Why are there no many 40' monitors then? Is it no demand or something? But its so expensive for one... cheapest one i saw was $600. And there was one for $1000 and one for $1500 i believe. There wasn't much selection.

Well i want to get more opinion from others on this. When i use to buy things, i always bought it on impulse and never did that much research. I spent so much money throughout the years with this so with a monitor/tv... I don't want to do that anymore.

Now you still say get a 43' 4k tv over a 32' 4k monitor if same price? Again the links i posted, im going to get one of them only.

Now would you rather use just one 43' 4k tv... or 2 monitors... 32' 4k and the 24' 1920x1200? Because when im not playing poker, i feel like using that one big 43' 4k tv is not that nice since i would be web browsing and other things. Like i like having chrome windows on 2 of my monitors to look at. I mean, i have very little space to put a 24' 1920x1200 monitor on my desk if i put a 43' 4k tv on it. I would have to put it to back of my side wall if you get what im saying?

The thing though is I'm on the computer at least 12 hours a day minimum staring at the screen...so my concern is doing that with a tv isn't good since i will be up close.

Whether it's a waste or not is up to you. We pay, we play, we learn. C'est la vie!

You're missing the point with your questions. And again, for clarity, if your current 1080P monitor handles only 4 tables @ 24", then 4 times that resolution will handle 16 tables @ 48" or larger monitor/TV.

If a TV is rated good enough for PC use, then it is both a TV and a monitor. I don't understand why these distinctions are making you hung up?

A monitor manufacturer will of course tell you to only use their tech. Use your own judgment instead and not just save money, but space too, without giving up on the screen real estate you desire.

Your top priority is desk space. Your second is as many tables as possible on screen. A TV of the right specs brings those together economically. Once it's in your hands and you've let yourself get used to it, decide then if you keep or sell it and go back to your lessor setup.

And the lag issue? There isn't one. You're not playing twitch games; you're using a big screen.

I'm on computers all day too. It's nice to sit at my 50" and zoom things to the level I feel comfortable to, at that moment. But, when I need to see 4 desktops' worth of information all at once, I have that too.

Hey. My two 24' monitors are not 1080p. Its 1920x1200. What is the name of 1920x1200 by the way? If my monitors were 1920x1080, which i believe is 1080P, that would be a huge issue because when you open 4 tables... they overlap on 1920x1080. I know 1920x1200 is the absolute minimum I need.

Well I always heard a TV is meant for watching TV/movies etc and its not meant as a monitor. Also if you youtube poker computer setup, you notice how many ppl use 27'28' 4k monitors and some use the 32' 4k. Rarely you see anyone using a big 40'+ tv to play... which is why it confused me because you could put tons of tables that way. Some ppl even put 9 tables or 12 tables on the 24' 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 monitor. That to me is ridiculous because the tables are way too small to look at. I find putting 6 tables on a 24' 1920x1200 a bit too small for my liking.

Yea desk space is very important. But my table is only 4 feet... can't put a 6 feet table which would give me plenty of space. Because a 6 foot folding table, you could put a 43' tv and 2 more monitors to the left/right of it easily. So with my 4 feet table, I know i could put a 43' TV on it... but not sure if i could fit one of my 24' on it as well... it can but the viewing angle would be atrocious as its back would be against the side of the wall to the right of me where im sitting down. I know i could put a 32' 4k monitor on my desk with the 24' next to it without that much of an issue.

Yea a tv seems like it would bring it all together. But on the poker forums, people seem to suggest a monitor over a TV. There were few ppl that said they use big 40' tv and like it. So thats when i thought... why didn't i thought about that?

Well don't you have issues looking up at the screen though since its 50'? I saw how a 43' looks and do see one annoying thing is i have to look a bit higher when staring at it.

Well don't you agree if say you have 2 web browsers opened, its better having one on each monitor as oppose to one whole big TV though? So you use a 50' 4k TV as your monitor... do you use any other monitors next to it? Or is that the only monitor you use?

    1200P? :)

You're telling us that 120 pixels make a difference? I can't believe that online poker can't accommodate 1080P monitors. ;)

I really don't care what YouTubers say about this, I know what works. See if you can find a model that works as well for you too.

I am taller than the TV. I can position it anywhere I want for 'comfort'. Have you heard of wall mounts? Frees up all your desk nicely.

I can have 10 browsers open on my setup (and often do). The main one is still bigger than a 1200P monitor.

Hey. Yes its called 1200P. Yes... with poker tables.. having it at least 1200 at the bottom is extremely important. If its 1920x1200 and you have 4 tables, its big tables and no overlap. But if you have 4 tables at 1920x1080 resolution, you don't see the bottom part of the bottom 2 tables. So having it at least 1200 is critical. So if you want to do 6 tables on the 1920x1200, you can with no overlap but the table is bit too small for my liking. And doing it on the 1080P monitor 6 tables... not only you wouldn't be able to see the bottom part of the 2 tables on the bottom... but the middle 2 tables... there is overlap where you can't see the bottom part of those tables as well. Thats just how it is with the design.

I just thought about something else someone mentioned. Unless you mount it to the wall... isn't it an issue if the TV is too high in height. Someone said your eye level should be around the top of the monitor/tv in order for you to not keep looking up and tilting your head. I took a look at my 2 monitor setup and my eye level is looking at the top of the monitor so its around there. But a 43' 4k monitor... i measured it at walmart... its much taller in height where its close to about 6 inches taller than my current 24' monitor. So i would have to keep looking up. Do you have opinion on that? Funny a youtube video mentioned how he uses a 43' tv as monitor and its fine for it but said 50' would be way too high for him. Said he would need to be few inches taller in order to use a 50' TV comfortably with the eye level. Do you have opinion on that?

Okay so any samsung 43' is what you recommend right? Don't go higher than that and stick with samsung?

Can't really give you any more input as I don't know your local hardware availability and more importantly, your eyes.

Re-read what others and I have posted for you. The information you seek is in there.

But I can understand how you won't grok it until you roll up your sleeves and get into it yourself.

For anything smaller than a 43"-50" TV, get yourself two or more 16:10, 3840x2400 resolution monitors. Though I am still highly doubtful that a poker table needs 1200P. ;)

Hey. Well yea if i had 2 monitors already that were either 32' or 27' 4k... i wouldn't need to get another monitor. Or i had just one 4k monitor and my 24'... then i might buy another 4k or nothing. Its just that i never had a 4k monitor ever... and people said 4k monitor is the best for putting lot of poker tables etc.

Yea the resolution need to be minimum 1920x1200... because if my 2 monitors were 1920x1080... then it would not be effective at all.

But you still recommend the 43' 4k TV then right? Also would this be a problem? My folding table... is 4 feet wide only. Its about 2 feel long. So its like if i put a 43' 4k tv... it would be hard for my eyes to be farther than 2 feet i say.

Pay attention to details. A TV may not be optimised for extended viewing at short distance. Find out if the TV model uses PWM dimming. You don't want any flicker. The fact that a TV supports PC input means nothing.
The TV is unlikely to have any sort of adjustable stand either.

BTW If you are spending 12h/day playing poker and a $600 investment in a quality monitor is a problem, then this is a good testament to the state of "professional" online poker today. I digress.

Given the amount of tables, he's likely playing micro-limits. Not much to be earned there, but less risk too, especially in the long run.

Right. To make any substantial money you would need to play at high enough stakes, but then you are up against almost exclusively regs and bots playing near-optimal game, so your edge decreases and variance increases. Consequently, the prevailing strategy in cash is furious automated bum hunting, which the operators crack down on too. Collusion can only be prevalent.

The only people consistently earning in online poker are the operators, the affiliates promoting the business, and maybe like the top 1% of players, with their photographic memory for solver charts. Any remaining money on the table goes to bots, cheaters, and/or likely shady regs based in low-cost countries.

Hey all. Well I play low to some mid stakes. But everything that is said is correct with the climate of poker is accurate.

But you all still would recommend the 32' 4k monitor over a big 43' 4k TV right? Someone else mentioned how a TV isn't good because when you are moving your eyes around... its much different compared to a monitor because of how long it is vertically. So not only you looking side to side and moving your head around... doing it while vertically with the 43' tv would make it a pain.

Do you agree/disagree with that? I seen a 43' 4k tv display at a walmart here and it didn't look that bad... though of course i wasn't sitting on a chair and putting it on a table.

    Disagree. :D

Buy both, return the inferior product. After you've properly mounted and evaluated then extensively.

If you're eyes don't thank you for bigger fonts at a natural resolution, then any other subtleties already stated won't sway you either.

I have a 43 4K monitor and would highly recommend this format. 32 inch would likely require scaling, whereas 43 inch is usable at 100%. If I were to buy something now, I would try to gun for 120/144Hz, but 60Hz does the job.

Hey. Well the thing is your have a 43 4k monitor... isn't that a big difference than compared to the same TV though?

Yea i heard 32 requires some scaling.

But you or someone mentioned my 24' 1920x1200 doesn't require scaling right since its at 100%?

I dont know anything about those hz but i heard 60hz is what i want because then it won't mouse lag movement?

I know ppl said make sure whatever you get, make sure its same hz otherwise there is mouse lag etc.

    Mexico is what I meant.

If I was in the US, buying and returning it would be a breeze.

But if i use a 32' 4k monitor.... with a 24' 1920x1200 monitor, would it look strange? That is the one concern i have with getting a 32' 4k monitor because i will be using it along with one of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors. So there would definitely be a scaling mismatch between both since mine uses 100% dpi right and the 32' most likely will use 125 or 150% dpi? The person who i spoke to who plays some poker and does software development for a poker program told me i probably would still be using 100% dpi on a 32' 4k monitor. He said when he was using a 27' 4k monitor, he was using dpi at 100% without an issue...

So the point is if i get a 43' 4k tv and use it by itself or with one of my current monitors, no issue with dpi scaling since it will both be 100%. But if i get a 32' 4k monitor... it will look a bit weird then right since my tables probably won't be the same size etc like when i move a table to another screen etc?

Obviously the simplest solution is getting 2 of these 32' 4k monitors, but i dont want to spend that much money on it at the moment.
