I got a 4gb ITM module off ebay for the laptop listed below in my sig. I did much research and found that in several instances people successfully installed the 4gb ITM module in Santa Rosa laptops (e.g. the XPS M1530). However for mine, no matter what I do, trying newer BIOS, newer vs older Drivers (1.6, 1.7 and 1.8), it shows as 2gb. The ebay seller is trying to tell me that the 4gb module isnt compatible with the santa rosa but I think that he is being dishonest. Any input please?

Where do you see the 2GB? The previous generation of ITM used to split itself between a storage drive and HDD cache which showed up as two separate devices in Device Manager. I haven't tried the latest version.

The ITM Console says "Total cache size" of 2gb. It should say 4gb as another user with a SR machine (XPS M1530) proved that a 4gb module worked. I think I got ripped off by this ebay seller and will be filling a dispute.

4GB HalfSize: NVCPEHWR004G2
2GB FullSize: NVCPEMWR002G210
2GB HalfSize: NVCPEMWR002G2 -
Very old post I know, but I have been looking into a 2GB or 4GB upgrade for my existing 1GB chip. From what I have found, only the 512 and 1GB are documented by Intel to function with the 965 Chipset.
Probably the reason why OP was only seeing max of 2GB.

4gb Intel Turbo memory only shows up as 2gb in Intel 965 chipset (Santa Rosa)?
